Watton Employment Services Inc. is an established Community service provider that has worked closely with Service Canada and Ontario Works since 1997. WES has also developed a solid and cooperative relationship with the Ontario Disability Support Program (ODSP).
This agency is fully supported with counseling and administrative staff. Clients can easily access WES through many avenues, including our toll free telephone number, TTY, and the internet. The offices are located conveniently on bus routes.
This agency has been providing employment related services since 1997. WES originally began operation as an agency that provided mainly Vocational Rehabilitation Service to complex, multi-barriered clients who were seeking assistance with returning to the workforce. This service was available to clients funded by provincial government departments on a fee-for-service basis, in the Northumberland and Peterborough Counties and Durham Region.
Since 1998 Watton Employment Services Inc. continued to evolve as the Community and labour market dictated. WES established firm roots in the Community as an Employment Planning and counseling firm, where one could expect to receive excellent quality of service and ultimately, resolution of their employment related issues. This agency has also established solid ties with other Community service providers and psychological and mental health practitioners, in the effort to provide seamless, effective, and comprehensive counseling and case management services to the Community.
WES continues to respond to the Community’s need and has added/removed/modified programs and services as dictated by the client and labour market trends, and continues to maintain a team of professional counsellors and support staff, that at this time, represents a seasoned and knowledgeable Community resource noted for their ability to effectively assist individuals with developing appropriate Return to Work Action Plans or Employment Plans.
Currently WES exists as a well known Community service provider with a continuum of services and complement of staffing, necessary to meet the needs of the unemployed in our Community. Under the agency’s mandate and intake assessment process all clients who come to this agency are provided service.
The agency is highly focused on case managing our clients through an assessment and counseling process, where an Action Plan is developed that leads to work reintegration. The counseling staff, remaining client focused, assists the client with this plan development and with its implementation. The tools and resources available to the client are quite broad, yet specific to individual client needs. Services range from intensive full diagnostic evaluations to group sessions on labour market trends, one-to-one or group job search assistance, or a group session on reviewing funding options should training represent the next step.
Our counseling staff are qualified practitioners with university degrees or the 3 year Career and Work Counsellor Diploma Program or a combination of both.
