Program Support Assistant


The successful candidate will have a diploma or degree in areas of, Employment / Career Counselling, Marketing / Business, or Human / Social Services.  Experience working with the unemployed would be considered an asset.  Candidates should be confident in their skills and be committed to maintaining a high level of professionalism.  This is a short term contract position with the potential for long term extension, and includes a 37.5 hour work week.  This position entails service provision in Northumberland County and/or Durham and Peterborough.


Required Responsibilities/Qualifications:


  • Ensuring provision of excellent customer service
  • Providing support for various Employment Ontario programs including; database entries, file organization, contacting clients and employers for file audits and reviews/tracking
  • Performing front desk duties and providing front desk coverage
  • Learning and becoming proficient entering data/reporting statistics
  • Maintaining budget spreadsheets and submitting reports
  • Processing job postings for employers; maintaining a library of current job postings
  • Building rapport with employers; reviewing Canada-Ontario Job Grant applications
  • Relaying client and employer concerns to the Program Coordinator/ Manager as appropriate
  • Keeping apprised of new developments within local and regional labour markets and available training programs
